Cut Wire Shot Supplier in Ahmedabad

Price : ₹ 40/kg - 150/kg

It is composed of cutting steel wire into lengths equal to the wire diameter; Cut Wire is a single grain size abrasive media with a good life cycle at high blasting velocity. The as-cut shape it is usually used in particular desanding applications while modified shape these types are essentially used in shot peening purposes (like Automotive & Trucks, Oil & Gas, General Industry, Aerospace, etc.)

Company Profile

Cut Wire Shot

It is often preferred over stainless steel shot because of the proven fact that it lasts longer, generates less dust, and has greater uniformity in size. it's made by taking wire of the specified type and cutting it in lengths that are approximately up to the wire diameter.

Cut wire shot is often bought as-is (with sharp edges), conditioned (rounded edges), and specially conditioned (nearly spherical). it's also possible to get cut wire shot made of different metals like zinc or copper. Cut wire shot is designated by the diameter of a wire utilized in thousandths of an inch.

Size of Shot

When other factors, like shot velocity and exposure time, are constant, a rise in shot size leads to an increase in peening intensity and depth of the compressed layer, plus a decrease in coverage. Selecting the minimum shot size capable of manufacturing the specified intensity is preferable to require the advantage of a more rapid rate of coverage obtained with a smaller shot. the choice of a specific shot size could also be dictated by the shape of a neighborhood to be peened.

In shot peening of fir-tree serrations of steel compressor blades, complete coverage is often obtained as long as the radius of an attempt doesn't exceed the radius of serrations. an equivalent principle applies to a variety of shot sizes for peening a root radius of threads. When peening fillets, the diameter of the shot used shouldn't exceed one-half the radius of the fillet.

Hardness of Shot

Variations within the hardness of the shot don't affect peening intensity, provided an attempt is harder than a workpiece. If the shot is softer than the workpiece, a decrease in intensity occurs.

Velocity of Shot

Peening strength increases with shot velocity; But, when velocity is increased, steel shots must be examined for breakdown more regularly to purge the system of the broken shot.

Features of Cut Wire Shot

  • Being used in more cycles (3-5 times), cut wire shots reduce the cost for maintenance and warehouse.
  • Lower Surface Contamination.
  • 100% solid material; no blowholes, tails & porosity.
  • You can reduce the time for shot peening/blasting.
  • Cleans fast and gives a bright & smoother finish than other abrasives.
  • Increases the fatigue life for the blasted objects.
  • No dust or health hazards during the operation.

Applications of Cut Wire Shot

  • Surface improvement, deburring, descaling, shot blasting, and peening of metal parts.
  • Deburring aluminum die castings, removing flash up to .020", stripping paint, and removing coatings without damaging substrates (tooling, paint hooks, etc.).
  • Cut wire shot is mainly used in shot blasting machines to clean surfaces.
  • Involving heat absorption.

Industrial Uses

  • Automotive Industry.
  • Aerospace Industry.
  • Medical Industry.
  • Shipping Industry.
